14th International Open

Opening Reception: Friday, March 4, 6-9 p.m.


Woman Made Gallery is proud to present a group exhibition by 37 women artists. On exhibit are paintings, sculptures, printmaking, photography, video, and performance.

In her juror's statement and in response to receiving more than 250 entries for this show, Laura Anderson Barbata comments, "I applaud each courageous woman whose work I had the privilege of experiencing and am honored to have been chosen to dialogue with each of them through their work. Whether selected to participate in the exhibit or not, I encourage each one to continue to make her voice heard and to be relentless in her endeavors as an artist."

Exhibition Juror: Laura Anderson Barbata

Born in Mexico City, Laura Anderson Barbata has exhibited internationally since 1986. She currently lives and works in New York City, Venezuela, and Mexico City, where she is a Professor at the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes-Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado la Esmeralda.

Piece In Progress


This is the sketch of a piece that Katie Waugh and I have been working on over this last fall and winter. Now we have the pleasure of working with artist, Tara M. Hills. This is a wearable piece that incorporates electronics. It has circuits with LED’s that vary in color, size and voltage.
