These are some of the pieces that I made during my residence program at Lillstreet Art Center
Title: Kitchen – Chicken
Dimensions: 1’6” x 2’
Medium: Screen‐printing, and sewing
Description: For international people there are words that have similar pronunciations while having different meanings. Sometimes we say chicken but what we really want to say is kitchen or vice versa. This work explores what it means to be learning a new language and how we deal with similarities and differences in words. I screen-printed the syllables of the words chicken and kitchen in order to use the shape of the mouth to represent a sound.
